-What do you plan to do with your business degree?
I would like to start my own business, to be my own boss, and make money for myself. I think Native people need to expand and make our mark in all areas of society including business. I also plan on developing a program that helps to empower Native youth.
-What kind of acting roles have you done and what kinds of roles would you like to get into next?
My acting to this point has been all theatre roles. However, in film I want to try different genre’s such as action, sports, comedies, and drama’s. I think it’s important for any actor to be diverse in their abilities. I’m sure I will be cast in Native films which I also look forward to.
-Word of advice for young aspiring models/entertainers?
For anybody that wants to become a model, actor, entertainer here are some very important points to consider. You need to be motivated, and love what you do. This industry is not easy and you have to be smart in how you conduct yourself. Take opportunities and always keep moving forward. One of the most important things in anything is building a strong network of people. The people that support you are very important so always acknowledge them, never forget them, and don’t get a big head.
-According to the “Sexiest people” contest, Native female models seemed to be considered more “sacred” than the male models and were getting negative criticism about exposing too much skin; do you agree or disagree? Why?
Yes women do get much more negative criticism when they show more skin. Men generally don’t get negative comments when they take their shirts off and in fact, are requested quite often. I believe women are sacred however it is an individual choice of how one wants to be seen in the public eye. If a man or woman is comfortable to be depicted as “sexy” then that is their choice. Also if anybody is seen in the public eye there will always be a person who will criticize other people and that’s just the nature of the beast. I have received my fair share of criticisms and all a model, actor, or entertainer can do is keep doing what they feel is right for them and what they represent.
-Do you feel there is anything wrong with Natives wanting to portray themselves as Sexy?
The word “sexy” can be interpreted in many different ways and not everybody thinks the same thing is sexy. I think Native people are some of the most beautiful people in the world. If somebody chooses to portray themselves as “sexy” then I’ll respect that because that’s their choice.
